ABOUT ME

Mrs Melissa Bentley qualified from Imperial College Medical School, London in 1998. She obtained her post-graduate qualification in surgery (MRCS) and was awarded a specialist Registrar training number in the London deanery and rotated through Charing Cross Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, The Brompton, The Royal Free Hospital and The Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital.

Through these years she gained skills in rhinology and facial plastics, laryngology and airway, voice problems and otology. The latter years of her training were spent focusing on rhinology exclusively, sinus problems, nasal reconstruction (cosmetic and functional) and Allergy (at The Royal Brompton Hospital and The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital). She obtained her Certificate of Completion of Training by the Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board in 2011.

She currently holds a Consultant position at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital part of University College Hospital NHS Trust, London. She holds honorary Consultant positions at The Royal Free Hospital and The Whittington Hospital, London. 

Her practice covers a broad spectrum of general ENT conditions however she has a specific interest in rhinology (reconstructive surgery and endoscopic sinus surgery).

She routinely lectures on Rhinology and Facial Plastics courses and participates as faculty for the Diploma of Head and Neck Surgery courses (DOHNS) as well as and the Fellowship courses (FRCS) at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital.

She is a Clinical Supervisor for ENT Surgical trainees on the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Programme and has been trained in Human Factors and their importance in the field of Surgery.

She has published in numerous peer reviewed journals and regularly attends National and International conferences to ensure she is current and up-to-date with new procedures and techniques.
